Job Description


Start date: As soon as possible Fixed term: 12 monthsApplications are sought for a committed Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work with Dr Mills and Dr Cecil conducting research for a BMA funded project entitled 'Improving access to and delivery of community care around death'. The project is part of a larger collaboration of mixed-methods research with colleagues from the School of Medicine in St Andrews and NHS Fife that aims to design and implement a bespoke care coordination system that improves care pathways and experiences of care at the end of life.The primary duties will be to provide qualitative research expertise in support of the delivery of the funded research.The successful applicant will have (or be near to completion of) a PhD with expertise in qualitative research relevant to health. The successful candidate is expected to have demonstrated expertise in healthcare, medicine or psychological research and have relevant experience in qualitative methodologies, and analyses. Any experience in conducting qualitive research with clinical staff, patients and their caregivers would be particularly relevant to this project. The researcher should be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisation and research skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and with external collaborators. The candidate will be expected to provide significant intellectual input into the project.The post is available for 12 months starting as soon as possible.
