Job Purpose:
The Future Medicines Institute (FMI) is a new industry-led research hub for Life and Health Sciences in Northern Ireland, hosted by Queen's University Belfast (QUB) with a MedTech section led by Ulster University supporting the new Centre for Digital Health Technology link core to the Belfast Region City Deal. FMI will foster collaboration across industry, academia, and healthcare to accelerate the development of new drugs and diagnostics, driving growth in our economy. It will provide a vital pathway to speed up patient access to personalised treatments, streamline drug development processes, and bring innovative solutions to market at pace and will drive innovation and productivity in Precision Medicine, building on Northern Ireland's strong reputation in diagnostics and therapeutics.
The post holder will make a leading contribution to the FMI work packages hosted at Ulster University specifically within the research area of Artificial Intelligence. They will be expected to undertake research within the area of artificial intelligence, contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals in addition to help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.
