UCL is Europe's neuroscience powerhouse and the Research Department of Clinical, Health and Educational Psychology is ideally positioned for research at the interface between cognitive neuroscience, clinical and developmental research. The postholder will be based at Katerina Fotopoulou's team (see www.katfotlab.com) and will be expected to assist with research in the area of body awareness, interoception, decision-making and social cognition on an ERC-funded project 'METABODY' investigating these topics in humans, clinically and developmentally.
About the role

We are seeking a full time Research Fellow to fill a position available from December 2025 to June 2026.
The post-holder(s) will contribute to the design, practicalities and conduct of human, psychophysical and clinical studies, and the writing up of papers with existing datasets generated by the ERC project. The main duties of the postholders will involve contributing to all practical and theoretical aspects of the ERC research as conducted by the ERC team, including supervision of more junior staff and students, ensuing the completion of and write-up of ongoing studies on healthy participants, including children and parent dyads, and people with subclinical and clinical disordered eating and related body image concerns and body image management efforts.
Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6B salary with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
About you

The candidate should have a strong academic record, research experience in the aforementioned topics covered by the ERC project and evidence of their ability to analyse, write up and publish quantitative psychological data in publications of high international standards. Excellent writing, organisational and supervision skills, experience studying psychological concepts in the context of psychiatry and/or neurology research and high-calibre skills in modelling and data analysis are desirable.
A DBS clearance is required for this position.
