About the Department:

The SOAS Middle East Institute (SMEI) is an interdisciplinary institute promoting innovative engagement on the Middle East through research and outreach. The SMEI is a forward-thinking hub bringing together the worlds of scholarship, practice, and policy to foster meaningful exchanges among diverse stakeholders and craft creative solutions to key planetary challenges pertinent to the Middle East and North Africa. Research projects and public engagement are at the heart of the institute\'s activities.

About the Role:

The SOAS Middle East Institute (SMEI) is seeking to recruit an ambitious, experienced Research Fellow. In addition to pursuing their own research, the Research Fellow will work closely with the SMEI Director to generate and fundraise for new research and deliver projects and programming at the SMEI. The Research Fellow needs to have experience in writing research grant applications and engaging with donors and/or with the policy community, as well as keen interest in interdisciplinarity and research innovation in the arts, humanities and/or social sciences.
