The mission of the Department of Epilepsy is to transform the lives of people living with epilepsy for the better by identifying, understanding and correcting or preventing the underlying mechanisms leading to the epilepsies and associated comorbidities in each individual person. The UCL Epilepsy Imaging Group is part of the Department and is primarily based in the Epilepsy Society MRI Unit.


About the role

We are seeking three Research Fellows to join the UCL Epilepsy Society MRI and TMS Unit. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing MRI/fMRI, PET, and neuropsychology studies conducted under the EPIPHANY protocol. You will work closely with principal investigators and research delivery staff to ensure studies are set up efficiently and delivered to target within the planned recruitment period.



The roles are available immediately and funded until 31 March 2027 in the first instance.



These roles are eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 80% of time on site.

About you

You will have a PhD or equivalent in Neuroscience or a related discipline, along with experience in MRI/fMRI data analysis using MATLAB, SPM, or similar tools. You will also have the ability to analyse, interpret, and critically evaluate fMRI/MRI data and to prepare results for reports and scientific publications, as well as experience in scientific writing and dissemination of research findings.



This role meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL welcomes applications from international applicants who require a visa.

Appointment as Research Fellow is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be as Research Assistant (salary 39,148 - 41,833 per annum) with appointment as Research Fellow being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
