Centre for Engineering Education (CEE)
The Centre for Engineering Education (CEE) is a joint centre between the UCL Faculty of Engineering Sciences and the UCL Institute of Education. It aims to provide research and curriculum development to deliver improved engineering education worldwide. It is actively engaged in the engineering education research community and in using that evidence-based research to deliver innovative and high-quality student experiences at UCL and for external partners through collaborative consultancy projects.
About the role
Please note that this post is offered on a fixed-term contract for 12 months in the first instance, with a start date of 01 February 2026.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research that bridges engineering, education, and social sciences to understand and enhance how engineering students develop skills for addressing real-world problems that integrate technical and social dimensions.
The successful candidate will lead research examining how engineering students develop the ability to approach, frame, and solve open-ended sociotechnical problems in the context of the programmes offered by The Centre for Engineering Education (the Integrated Engineering Programme IEP and/or the Engineering Foundation Year EFY).
The postholder will collaborate with engaged faculty members from the IEP and/or EFY and may contribute via their research to enhancing the courses offered by the IEP/EFY.
This is a research focused role.
