The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world's leading public health universities. We are seeking to appoint a Statistician (Research Fellow or Assistant Professor) to support primarily two new UKRI projects with additional ad hoc statistical analysis and epidemiological interpretation for projects in the thriving laboratories of Professor Chris Drakeley and Dr Julius Hafalla, primarily focused on immunoepidemiology, as needed.
The post holder will be responsible for the generation and curation of laboratory and epidemiological data from different studies and study sites.
The successful applicant must possess a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic, expertise in epidemiological knowledge of infectious diseases in humans including malaria, have experience and understanding in using multiple metrics for analysis, experience with design and implementation of study protocols, experience of data analysis in Stata and programming in R.
The post is fixed term for 2 years and full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE. The post is funded primarily through two UKRI grants, and one Bill and Melinda Gates grant. The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range 45,097 - 51,156 or Grade 7 in the range 52,581 - 55,891 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post is based in London at LSHTM.
The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary "Wellbeing Days". Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
