About the vacancy:
The University of the West of England has a leading profile in healthy and sustainable environments. The Centre for Public Health and Wellbeing is appointing a Research Fellow with a background in green infrastructure and wellbeing to support these activities.
This role is specifically targeted at addressing the challenge of creating more healthy, climate resilient and equitable places through both existing research activities and supporting grant applications. Part of the role is working in collaboration with the Centre for Sustainable Planning and Environments on the Natural Environment Research Council-funded GP4Streets project.
The GP4Streets project will create tailored do-it-yourself (DIY) green blue grey infrastructure (GBGI) solutions as a "green prescription" for urban streets, allowing communities to adapt to their specific environmental challenges posed by a changing climate.

About you
You will lead data collection for the GP4Streets intervention sites in the West of England and Surrey, working closely with colleagues in the Centre for Sustainable Planning and Environments and at the University of Surrey. You will be expected to make a contribution to the management of the research project and regular project meetings and giving updates/progress reports to the Project Team and partner agencies as required. You may also be involved in co-design tasks as part of this project. In addition, you will be required to support existing research projects in the Centre for Public Health and Wellbeing, and contribute to applications for further external funding for research.
You will have experience of using innovative methods to collect qualitative data, such as walking interviews, and of analysing qualitative data using NVivo. You will also have experience of publishing research findings in academic journals and presenting at conferences.
You will report to Issy Bray, Associate Professor, Centre for Public Health and Wellbeing, and will be expected to interface with researchers in the Research Centres, School and wider College.
This will be a fixed term 24-month post with potential to extend depending on future research funding.

This is a fixed-term post for 24 months, and is full-time working on a 1.0 FTE contract.
