The mission of LHA is to identify biological and social factors that affect lifelong health, ageing and the development of chronic disease, and to use findings to inform policy and design and test interventions that enhance healthy ageing.
About the role

These new positions will be primarily focussed on working on two ongoing project addressing the following: (1) the causal relationship between mental and physical health and young adults not being in employment or training (NEET) and (2) the causal relationship between trade unions and workers' physical and mental health. The three-year position will cover both aspects whilst the two-year position will only focus on the latter.
About you

Both appointees should have experience working with longitudinal data, and ideally an interest in cross-country comparative analyses. Strong quantitative skills in longitudinal analysis are essential, including experience with causal inference methods and multiple imputation. Experience using R or Stata is required. Candidates should hold a PhD in social epidemiology, data science, health informatics, biostatistics, or social sciences, including sociology or psychology. They should be able to demonstrate experience in conducting quantitative analysis, as well as experience of working with population-based health datasets, ideally including longitudinal and cohort datasets. Evidence of research experience leading to outputs of publishable standard will also be required.
