Are you an experienced project manager looking to take a leading role in delivering an ambitious global research programme at the intersection of climate, health and policy?
We are seeking a
Research Manager
to support the Wellcome Trust-funded project Financing a Just Green Transition in Indonesia, ensuring the smooth operation of a multi-institution partnership involving Imperial College London, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Padjadjaran, the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), and other academic and NGO partners.
You will be instrumental in ensuring smooth cross-institutional collaboration, supporting reporting requirements, contributing to strengthening project management capacity within Indonesian partner universities, and allowing the research team to focus on producing high-impact science
What you would be doing

In this role, you will:
Lead day-to-day project management for a large, international research consortium.
Coordinate work package timelines, milestones and deliverables across partners in the UK and Indonesia.
Support preparation of research progress reports for Wellcome.
Organise meetings, workshops and advisory board sessions, and manage follow-up actions.
Maintain and improve the project's knowledge repository, documentation systems and version control.
Track workflow across a multidisciplinary team and ensure smooth communication between academics, administrators and external partners.
Assist with recruitment processes, onboarding and team coordination.
Provide essential administrative and organisational support that enables the Principal Investigator and research team to focus on scientific outputs.

Has demonstrable experience in project management or managing complex research programmes.
Communicates clearly and confidently across diverse teams and international partners.
Can work independently, organise competing priorities and take initiative to solve problems.
Has strong administrative, organisational and digital skills, including document and version management.
Enjoys working in a collaborative environment and supporting others' success.
Shows excellent attention to detail and the ability to track progress across multiple workstreams.
Brings interest in global health, climate policy or international development (desirable but not essential).

The Department of Primary Care and Public Health combines GP educators with researchers in public health and primary care and collaborates closely with NHS partners, industry, and international governments and universities. The department aims to improve health through high-quality research and publications that inform policy and practice. Key research focuses include chronic disease management, sustainable transport, tobacco control, financial protection in health systems, and the use of technology and data to enhance healthcare.
This is a part-time post (50% FTE) with an expected start date in March 2026. The role is funded for
four years in the first instance
, with the possibility of extension depending on future funding.
