Are you passionate about fostering communities and enabling world-class research through better software? The Software Sustainability Institute (SSI), a leading international authority on research software, is seeking a dynamic Research Software Community Manager to manage and help evolve our prestigious Fellowship Programme.


In this pivotal role, you will drive the strategic direction, financial oversight, and daily operations of the programme in a highly collaborative international environment. You will be responsible for coaching and mentoring a diverse network of Fellows, organising cohort-based training, and managing the programme budget and reporting. A central focus will be the integration and advancement of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (EDIA) across all activities. You will also take product ownership of key internal management systems.


We are looking for an established leader from the research software community with proven experience in managing fellowship or similar initiatives, organising multi-day workshops, and maturing communities of practice. With a background in computational research or software engineering, you will possess excellent communication skills, a people-focused attitude, and a pragmatic approach to working within a distributed team. Your passion for connecting people and helping them develop will be essential.
