About the role

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic, hardworking and organised Research Technician to work in the

Cancer Immunology Unit within the groups of Professor

Sergio Quezada

.



The applicant will have the opportunity to help investigate the role of the tumour microenvironment (TME) in in vivo and in vitro cancer models (primarily but not limited to glioblastoma) and how immune modulatory molecules can be used to manipulate the TME. Research will primarily focus on the study and manipulation of co-stimulatory and co-inhibitory pathways in cancer models. The successful candidate will be a part of a collaborative group of scientists and will be expected to actively assist and participate in all aspects of the research, as well as in the basic maintenance of the laboratory.

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.




The post is funded for 24 months in the first instance.




About you

Successful candidates must have Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, related discipline or equivalent experience, Home Office Procedure Individual License (PIL) and experience with writing and following standard operating practices under GLP. Master's degree in Biological Sciences or related discipline, experience with storing and tracking samples whilst adhering to human tissue legislation and knowledge of human tissue legislation and implementations within a laboratory setting are desirable but not essential.
