272BIO Ltd is an emerging specialist biotechnology company that focuses on developing novel biological therapies for veterinary disease areas. 272BIO is now recruiting a motivated Research Associate to join their Discovery Team based at their labs in Reading to help discover the next wave of high quality, specific and affordable new biological veterinary medicines.
Summary
We are seeking a Research Associate to join our dynamic team at 272BIO Limited. This role is crucial in supporting our research initiatives aimed at developing effective biological therapies for veterinary applications. You will work closely with experienced professionals in a cutting-edge laboratory environment.
The successful Senior Lab Technician/Research Associate may be responsible for amongst the following:
Working with the project teams to identify needs and provide media, buffers, basic cultures etc.
Carry out routine assays/experiments alongside project teams from time to time
Assisting with the set up of simple ELISAs
Assisting with data manipulation and analysis as needed
Ensuring processes are carried out safely, efficiently, and up to the laboratory standards
Creating and reviewing and updating technical documents and SO
Being the primary point of contact for operations in the lab and be hands on in the resolution of issues
Manage equipment in the labs including the servicing intervals and management of maintenance schedules
Looking after inventory including ordering and stocking and managing the general lab reagents and consumables to a budget
Working with the project teams to set up and manage appropriate work schedules.
Requirements
A BSc Honours degree in a biological or physical science (or equivalent on-the-job experience)
Extensive experience in a laboratory setting (Industrial for preference but academic or clinical is accepted)
Experience with aseptic technique and of using a class II safety cabinet
Experience of mammalian, bacterial or yeast cell culture
Experience in Molecular Biology will be an advantage
Experience of managing and maintaining lab stocks
Experience with robotics and laboratory automation
Experience of maintaining documents and procedures within laboratory accreditation specifications
A comprehensive understanding of health and safety protocols in a lab environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; use of Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Teams, and electronic notebooks and databases
