Job Description

We are seeking a Researcher to join our growing team and undertake work on systematic literature reviews and data identification for projects in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, finance and other sectors. The successful candidate must have a bachelors degree (or higher) in a biomedical subject and will be available to work full-time by remote working with occasional attendance at meetings in the UK .

You will have the following aptitudes and interests:

An interest in identifying and processing published evidence on biomedical topics - you pay attention to news reports of new treatments or health and like to read the details about these from journal websites, not just social media; A good eye for detail - you can't resist correcting typos and formatting errors; you always make sure your written work is accurate and appropriately referenced to source documents; A willingness to follow protocols - you can follow detailed instructions consistently, so you get the same results every time you repeat the same task; A logical mind - you enjoy solving puzzles and working things out for yourself; Enjoyment from reading factual reports - you are happy to spend long periods of time working at a computer; you prefer to get information from reading rather than talking about issues; A good level of literacy - you communicate fluently in written and spoken English; you enjoy making sense of a lot of information and writing this up as a comprehensible summary; Fast working and productive - you enjoy working at speed and juggling tasks; you have always been good at meeting deadlines; Team-worker - you are good at collaborating and sharing tasks with colleagues; you take pride in supporting the team in delivering high-quality work; Honesty and reliability - you are known for doing what you have promised to do; you are open about difficulties you have experienced with work-related tasks and eager to learn how to avoid them in the future.
Tasks will include the following:

Running pre-specified searches of established medical literature databases (PubMed, Embase, Cochrane library and others); Searching the internet for additional sites with suitable resources for literature reviews; Collating search results; Screening abstracts in a spreadsheet for relevance for the review, using pre-specified inclusion criteria; Retrieving full text versions of relevant papers and screening them for relevance; Extracting relevant data from the papers into specific fields in a Text document table or spreadsheet; Assisting with report writing and amendments; Taking minutes of client meetings; Manual uploading of citation details of HTA reports and journal publications into an online database; Identification of published data to help to parameterise a disease or mortality model.
Essential skills and experience:

Competence in using word processing and spreadsheet software; A basic understanding about medical research methods; Legally entitled to work in the UK.

Pay: 35,000.00-36,000.00 per year
