:

The successful candidate will be a key member of the actuarial reserving function and will report directly to the Head of Management Reporting Corporate Actuarial.



As a Reserving Actuary, you will play a key role in our team, contributing to the strategic decision-making process and ensuring the financial stability and solvency of our organisation. You will contribute to provide clear, concise, and insightful reporting to management, enabling them to make informed decisions that drive our organisation forward. You will be responsible for leading transversal projects and providing expert actuarial analysis, to support corporate decision-making and regulatory compliance.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

Review, challenge, consolidate and govern IFRS4 and IFRS17 reserves results during valuation, booking, Forecast and planning exercises for the AXA XL division, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Contribute to the preparation supporting documents to present to the top management of AXA XL, influencing strategic decision-making, including: + MRCR (Management Review Committee on Reserves) for valuations and bookings, including minutes of those committees
+ Financial clearance with AXA Group (actuarial section)
+ Flash presentation to AXA Group Actuarial function, in collaboration with AXA XL Risk Management team
+ Planning presentations: base loss ratio and budget loss ratio
+ Board/audit committee presentation
+ Presentation on reserves for Bermudian regulator
+ Presentation on reserves for rating agencies
Performing actuarial analytics at the insurance segment and AXA XL division level to provide insights into emerging trends and to assist with reserve recommendations. Contribute to the development of the AXA XL business plan each year, including reporting to the AXA XL Division and AXA Group management. Evaluate the ongoing profitability of key businesses to support portfolio management and strategy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide actuarial insights and recommendations. Perform regular follow up of diagnostics that helps identifying early trends. This includes a monthly monitoring of the earned rate change evolution's. In collaboration with the rest of AFR team Lead projects in the team, analysing project requirements, deliver projects/initiatives with very high quality. Oversee and guide junior team members on various projects, providing technical and strategic support to ensure project success. Contribute to their professional development, offering training, coaching, and mentorship to help them grow in their roles and advance their careers within the organization Research/Learn about new Reserve/Reserve Risk/claims analytics methodologies and develop new & creative solutions to actuarial issues.

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills and Abilities:

Qualified actuary by a recognised actuarial association with significant amount of experience and a robust background in reserving Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data. Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. Excellent written & verbal skills, including presentation skills. Effective project management and leadership capabilities. Outstanding computer application skills, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

Keen attention to detail to ensure full consistency of results within various presentations. Working knowledge of actuarial reserving software such as ResQ and or other programming languages (e.g. SQL) and visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI).
