Here at Serco, we are recruiting for a driven and dedicated Manager to lead and manage the Resettlement and Families Team at Thameside, a Category B establishment for adult males, with safety and security at the heart of it.

This is a non-operational, demanding critical role and you will hold overall responsibilities for coordinating family events linking between families, prisoners and the establishment, alongside the responsibility of Children Safeguarding. We are looking for someone to hit the ground running so it is imperative you have previous experience in children\'s social care and resettlement.

Your experience of managing and leading people will ensure you can drive success in delivering on accountabilities such as:

  • Manage the Resettlement Team to increase the activities and provisions currently offered, focusing on release planning and the resettlement pathways.
  • Work with partner resettlement agencies in and outside of Thameside to ensure the Resettlement drop-in centre is being fully utilised, with the aim to have it occupied 80% of the available time.
  • Responsible for the management and oversight of Resettlement events at HMP Thameside in collaboration with the Prison Employment Lead.
  • Develop excellent working relationships with internal partners such as the Probation Service, Catch22, Job Centre Plus and our Housing provider
  • To attend the Greenwich Borough Partnership Safeguarding meetings as Thameside representative for safeguarding Children
  • Responsible for ensuring prisoner\'s complaints (including those involving litigation claims) relevant to the Resettlement team, have been dealt with in accordance with policy
What you\'ll need to do the role

First and foremost, you will have knowledge of offender management and public protection and have a Level 3 NVQ related qualification or relevant experience and also a clear understanding of Early Year Foundation Stage welfare requirements.

As an experienced People Manager you will possess the skills to apply all Human Resources (HR) related policies and practices and be able to carry out all aspects of people management such as attendance management, disciplinary investigations, performance management and staff appraisals.
