Residential Support Worker -- Transitions Care West Midlands
Supporting adults with learning disabilities across the West Midlands
Hours & rota: 12-hour shifts (8am-8pm / 8pm-8am) on a 3-on/3-off rota, 40-42 hours per week.
About the role
You'll provide warm, consistent support so people can live safely and independently at home and in the community. Day-to-day you will:
Support personal care, meals, household tasks and life skills (e.g., shopping, cooking, hygiene, budgeting).
Promote health, dignity and choice; observe wellbeing and arrange medical help when needed.
Enable meaningful activities, education, work and hobbies; accompany appointments, trips and holidays.
Follow care plans, safeguard adults, and work within key legislation (Care Act, MCA, GDPR, Equality, H&S).
Keep accurate daily notes and records; handle petty cash appropriately.
Administer medication safely after training/competency (including MAR/PRN).
Use our digital systems for care planning, incidents, and time & attendance (clock in/out).
Be a proactive team member--share information, attend handovers/meetings, and uphold confidentiality.
About you
Empathetic, reliable, great communicator and team player; calm under pressure and safety-minded.
Basic numeracy/digital literacy; comfortable using mobile/desktop/tablet for care records.
Willing to work days/nights, weekends and bank holidays on the rota.
Essential: DBS (or on Update Service), unrestricted Right to Work in the UK. We cannot offer visa sponsorship (now or in future) for this role.
Desirable: Care Certificate; NVQ Level 2/3 H≻ previous residential care experience; full driving licence.
