Better Futures is a organisation that specialises in providing salient care and support for children and young people that have suffered complex trauma and associated needs. The home is a family property situated in Bradford and provides care for up to 2 young people. The home is currently going through OFSTED registration, and you will work closely with the manager to make the house a home for our children.
Job Purpose
To provide a supportive and nurturing environment in accordance with company Policies and Procedures.
To lead by example and maintain good professional practices in accordance with legislation and guidance.
To be held accountable for the safety and wellbeing of our young people, whilst on shift with them.
To help create a supportive and positive environment for each young person with reference to his or her safety, health, and education.
To act as a surrogate parent with professional boundaries.
General Duties
Ensure safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made.

Build positive and trusting relationships with children, creating a safe and welcoming environment.* Support children by understanding their individual needs and helping them with their day-to-day activities and routines.* Be a positive role model, encouraging and supporting children as they face challenges and celebrate their achievements.* Assist in implementing care plans and working with families, schools, and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the children.*
Supporting the Team
Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality care, ensuring the children's needs are met consistently.* Follow guidance and instructions from senior team members to support the smooth running of the home.* Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve care practices.* Demonstrate our mission and values through your actions, ensuring they guide your work with children and colleagues.*
Keeping Things Running Smoothly
Help maintain accurate and up-to-date records, such as daily logs and incident reports.* Follow health, safety, and safeguarding procedures to ensure the home operates to a high standard.* Assist with daily tasks to ensure the home is a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for the children.* Be proactive in learning and developing your skills to provide the best possible care for the children.*
Qualifications and Education
Level 3 Diploma Children and Children's Workforce or equivalent. (or willingness to work towards).*
