An exciting opportunity has become available for a Residential care worker to join our team at Aviary House, a 4 bed registered Children's Home in Warrington for children with complex mental health needs.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, child focused individuals who have experience working with self-harm.
All of our homes in Warrington are rated Good or Outstanding and you will be provided with the skills and training to further support you in your role.
You will work 37 hours a week Monday to Sunday on rota basis with the expectation of completing sleep in duties, supporting the children and young people in within the service.
You will also benefit from 20% enhancements Monday to Friday 19:00 to 23:00 and 30% enhancements from 19:00 to 23:00 on Saturday and Sunday. We offer a substantial training package and are committed to supporting development and progress. We are in easily commutable distance of Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside.
We have a car leasing scheme (salary sacrifice) and rail ticket scheme available for our employees. When established within the role we will support you in the completion of a NVQ Level 4 in children and young people.
The role
You will play a crucial role in providing consistent care, emotional support and stability for children and young people who have often experienced trauma, neglect and mental health challenges. You will build trusting relationships, offering empathy and using therapeutic approaches to help children manage their emotions and behaviours safely. You will work closely with the onsite mental health team to deliver individualised care plans that address the children's educational, health, social and mental health needs. You will ensure the home is physically and emotionally safe, following safeguarding procedures and deescalating crisis or behaviour that challenges using approved intervention strategies.
Reporting and record keeping is an important part of the role, ensuring records are factually accurate and child friendly.
What's needed?
The potential candidates are required to have their Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare, or be willing to work towards this once the probation period is completed. We require a staffing team that is emotionally attuned, reflective and resilient. Candidates will need to be able to use IT systems and have a driving licence.
