Streatham Baptist Church is Hiring: Caretaker (Full-Time, Residential)

We are currently recruiting a full-time, residential Caretaker to join our team at Streatham Baptist Church. This is a vital role that supports the life and ministry of the church by ensuring our premises are safe, clean, well-maintained and ready for use by the congregation and community.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the day-to-day care, security and maintenance of the church premises Manage room bookings, heating, cleaning, and equipment set-up Conduct regular checks of the building, including safety systems and maintenance needs Liaise with contractors and suppliers, maintaining records and ensuring compliance Support church services and events, including occasional weekend work Provide a welcoming presence and practical assistance to staff, visitors and hirers

Requirements:

In sympathy with the aims and values of Streatham Baptist Church Proven experience in practical maintenance and facilities management Good interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and manage contractors Computer literacy and basic administrative skills Willingness to undergo relevant training and a successful Enhanced DBS check
The post includes accommodation on-site and offers flexible working arrangements across a 40-hour week (including Saturdays and Sundays when required). Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
