Job description
We are looking for staff to work nights in our Residential Childrens Home at Malon Way on a guaranteed contract of 16 hours per week, this will be two shifts per week on a rota and may include weekend working. Additional hours will be offered to cover sickness, annual leave and training. Night posts are paid at enhanced rates of time and third and will involve some duties such as tidying of the unit, laundry, ironing etc as well as supporting young people to make sure their health and wellbeing is looked after during the night.
The role is to be a key worker for a young person providing the support and interventions young people need so that they can achieve their aspirations in life.
Additionally, you will provide support to young people within the residential setting of the Home. You will work within a defined culture and intervention practice model and will adopt a solution focussed and restorative approach. The post holder will provide all aspects of care needs and interventions, in line with the young people's Care Plans, and develop effective action plans with a focus on reducing risks and building on strengths. Key working is integral to the post; working 'with' young people to develop their resilience and life skills to enable them to successfully manage the transition to return to family, foster care or to live independently in the community.
