About the Role



Daffodils Homes Ltd is seeking compassionate, reliable, and resilient

Residential Childcare Practitioner

to join our growing team. We provide high-quality care within both

Ofsted-registered residential settings

and

semi-independent (16+) supported accommodation

. Our aim is to deliver a nurturing, structured, and safe environment where young people can build resilience, develop independence skills, and thrive in their daily lives.

You will play a vital role in supporting young people with emotional well-being, behaviour management, daily routines, and engagement in meaningful activities--while maintaining professional standards and following all Ofsted and safeguarding requirements.

Key Responsibilities



Provide high-quality day-to-day support and care to children and young people Build positive, stable, and trusting relationships Promote independence, life skills, education, and personal growth (especially for 16+ semi-independent placements) Contribute to behaviour support plans, risk assessments, and individual support plans Ensure all safeguarding policies are followed consistently Record daily logs, incidents, and reports accurately and professionally Engage young people in education, health appointments, hobbies, and community activities Support emotional regulation and de-escalation when required Work effectively as part of a team and attend relevant meetings and training Participate in rota patterns, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and

sleep-in shifts


Requirements



Experience working in children's residential care or semi-independent (16+) services (preferred) Understanding of Ofsted expectations and safeguarding responsibilities Patience, resilience, and ability to stay calm under pressure Strong communication and interpersonal skills Flexibility to work rota-based shifts and sleep-ins UK driving licence (desirable but not essential) Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply)
