Job Overview
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing assistance and care to individuals, particularly children, ensuring their well-being and development. You will be responsible for implementing care plans, fostering a supportive environment, and promoting independence. This position requires a compassionate individual with strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with families and other professionals.
Responsibilities
Assist children with daily activities, including personal care and social integration.
Implement and monitor individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
Maintain accurate records of progress and any changes in behaviour or health.
Communicate effectively with children, families, and other support staff to ensure comprehensive care.
Provide transportation as needed, ensuring safe driving practices at all times.
Engage children in educational and recreational activities that promote their development.
Support families by providing guidance and resources related to childcare and development.
Skills
Awareness of the needs of children & young people
Knowledge of the Children Act
Knowledge of the Quality Standards
Understanding the purpose and function of residential care
Understanding of Equal Opportunities
Understanding of the impact of abuse, neglect and trauma on children and young people
Full driving licence.
Knowledge of IT, including use of E-mail, the internet and keeping electronic records.

Ability to adapt to 24-hour rota's which will include, evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleeping in.
