Job Description

At Redhouse we have a very committed team of Residential Carers who work very closely together to provide the best care possible for our 3 children. Our team is made up both male and female staff, they are lively, energetic and friendly. As a Manager and Deputy, we are very proud of our team and our children.

At present we have two boys aged 11 and 8 and a girl aged 10 living at Redhouse, all our children go to school full time and love going out on activities on a weekend with our staff. Our 11-year-old boy loves going to the gym and cinema and enjoys attending his weekly trampolining and karate clubs. Our 8 year old boy loves paw patrol and soft play and enjoys attending his weekly trampolining club. Our 10-year-old girl loves shopping trips and walks along the beach and enjoys attending her weekly gymnastics club. All of our children also love spending time at home playing in our huge garden on the trampoline and swings and they also enjoy watching movies or playing on their tablets. During the school holidays we plan activities such as Flamingoland, Light Water Valley and over night stays at our caravan.

We are looking for people to join our Redhouse family who have the passion to make a difference in our children's lives. We both as Manager and Deputy have worked for Right-Trak for a number of years, both starting our journey as Residential Carers. We know the role can be challenging however this role is exceptionally rewarding. You would be supported by a very hand on management team and a very welcoming and helpful Redhouse team.

Right Trak will provide a full induction which will include shadow shifts with each individual child supported by a member of the Redhouse Team. Clinical Psychologist input provided through clinical consultations and an in house CALM Trainer who will provide training to support Behaviour Management. Some days can lengthy and paperwork is essential but making a difference to their lives every day ensuring their best possible outcome is never boring.

What you can expect:



A competitive salary;

- 26,041.60 Starting salary for candidates who do not hold the recognised qualification.

- 26,561.60 - Starting salary for qualified candidates with a minimum of 2 years' experience within
Children's Residential Care.

- Sleep in allowance 60.00.

- Time and a half-paid on 8 specified Bank Holidays throughout the year.

What we expect:



Qualifications and Skills



Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce Diploma (or equivalent) is desirable. If you do not hold any relevant qualifications Right Trak will support you through this alongside Winnovation Training.

Understanding of child development, therapeutic parenting, the needs of children and a commitment to supporting young people is essential.

Promoting the safeguarding and welfare of all children

Be able to follow all organisation policies.

Are you a student who is looking for some practical experience within a residential children's home, if so we have a range of contracts.

You will be working as part of a team of Residential Childcare Workers so good communication, flexibility and teamwork is essential.

Possess diverse skills and be able to empathise with children with complex needs and manage a range of challenging behaviours. Be willing to work on a shift rota system which involves daytime, evening and night work. Good organisational and time management skills. Live within a commutable distance and have the right to work in the UK. Hold a Full UK Driving Licence to enable you to transport children to education, contact and appointments
