The Role:

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in the lives of children and young people aged 8-17 who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences. You will be a key figure in building trusting relationships, supporting their emotional and behavioural development, and helping them achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day care, guidance, and support to children and young people in a residential setting. Work as part of a team to implement care plans and routines. Support children with emotional regulation, education, and life skills. Promote positive behaviour and manage challenging situations in a calm and therapeutic manner. Participate in activities, outings, and family-style routines that build trust and stability. Maintain accurate records and contribute to regular reports and reviews. Ensure safeguarding and welfare are at the heart of your work.

Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people in a care, education, or support setting (residential experience desirable). Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards this within 2 years of employment). Strong communication and teamwork skills. A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to challenging behaviour. A full UK driving licence (essential due to location and potential travel needs). Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (additional sleep-in payments may apply).
