The Role:
As a Residential Childcare Worker in
Irthlingborough
, you will support children and young people aged 8-17 who may have experienced trauma, neglect, or adverse childhood experiences. You'll be part of a dedicated team working to provide consistency, stability, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality, person-centred care to children and young people
Support emotional, behavioural, and social development through daily routines and structured activities
Promote positive behaviour and manage challenging situations in a calm, therapeutic way
Contribute to care planning, reviews, and day-to-day record keeping
Engage in household duties, outings, and educational support
Always prioritise safeguarding and the wellbeing of each young person
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people in care, support, or education (residential experience is an advantage)
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete it within 2 years)
Empathy, resilience, and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Full UK driving licence (essential due to the location and nature of the role)
Willingness to work flexibly across evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts (sleep-in allowance may apply)
