The Role:
As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people aged 8-17 who may have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect. You'll work as part of a close-knit team to provide consistent care, emotional support, and guidance, helping them to develop life skills and build a positive future.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality, person-centred care in a residential setting
Support young people with daily routines, education, activities, and emotional wellbeing
Build trusting, therapeutic relationships that promote growth and resilience
Respond to challenging behaviour using a calm, trauma-informed approach
Participate in household tasks, outings, and care planning
Keep accurate records and contribute to care reviews
Always promote safeguarding and child protection
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people in care, education, or support settings (residential experience desirable)
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it within 2 years)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A calm, resilient, and empathetic nature
Full UK driving licence (essential due to home location and travel requirements)
Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (additional pay may apply)
