Hours:

36.33 hours per week,term time only, plus 5 inset days.

Salary:

MNSP Grade 5 Scale point 11-17 27,269 - 30,060 pro rata;

Actual salary 23,004 - 25,925 per annum (Pay Award Pending)

Notton House academy are recruiting for Residential Child Care Officers to work in our Residential Care areas at the Academy. This is a Monday to Thursday evening, Friday daytime role term time only.

There are 2 roles available - 1 Permanent and 1 Fixed Term for 1 Year from 1st September 2025 - 31st August 2026 (there is a potential for a permanent role)

Job role

To plan and organise activities for week days (Monday-Thursday) in consultation with the team. To contribute to the risk assessment, organisation and participation of the young people in leisure time actively thereby encouraging guests to live together amicably and develop socially accepted standards. To take all practical steps to ensure the welfare of the young people especially when involved in offsite activities. To keep young people safe, yet actively seek to empower them to gain and maintain some control over all aspects of their lives. To develop an acceptable level of written and verbal communications skill to enable clear and accurate record of work practice within established record keeping and confidentiality policies. To undertake necessary tasks delegated by the Head of Welfare To carry out rostered sleep-in duties. (currently would only to cover absent staff) To create and maintain well ordered, healthy and disciplined social environment, using proactive and intervention techniques, including positive scripts and physical intervention when necessary. Always aiming to restore a safe and orderly environment for all the young people as quickly as possible.
