We're looking for a passionate and dynamic Deputy Manager to help lead a children's residential home where every day is an opportunity to make a difference. You'll play a key role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for the children, while also providing strong leadership and supervision to the staff team. This role involves developing and implementing tailored care plans and documentation, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. You'll be part of the on-call system to offer guidance and support when needed, and confidently take charge of the home in the manager's absence, bringing stability, positivity, and a commitment to high quality care.

The role involves working 39 hours per week, with a combination of shift work, hybrid arrangements, and administrative days.

Funded Level 4 within residential childcare - Since using the training provider, we have understood more of what they offer, and they have provided learning opportunities that align with learning the role and this sector, therefore we prioritise enrolment onto the course as you desire. Currently, the course does not require a commitment to complete the functional skills element, however if you have a wish to complete this we would support this.
Requirements:
Passionate about supporting better futures for children and young people
Flexibility to meet the needs of the home, this role is made up of shift work (Including sleep in's).
Have the experience, knowledge and skill set to supervise members of the team.
Must have worked for at least 1 year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role (i.e. a position which consists mainly or solely of providing care for children).
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification
Level 5 in leadership and management (Desirable but not essential)
Full Uk Driving licence - Company cars are provided to utilise when on shift.
It is vital that we safeguard children and young people therefore the role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and the recruitment process adheres to the safer recruitment legislation.
The role is part of a small team within our 2 bed OFSTED registered home, working on a rota basis. A sleep-in element is required and starts at 10pm. This is paid in additon to your hourly rate.
