The Role:



Your key responsibilities as the Qualified Residential Support Worker:



As the Qualified Residential Support Worker, you will be working with our Outstanding Managers and will support your team and children in line with OFSTED legislation.

You will be assisting in the promotion of good childcare practice. A key component of the role will be day to day support of the children in our care including household duties, cooking, shopping, laundry and adhering to safeguarding protocols within the home.

The role is to ensure that all children receive appropriate care and education as required in their individualised care plans.

You will help provide essential support to young people in care, assisting them with daily activities, appointments, and behavioural management, all while creating a positive and nurturing home environment.

Qualified Residential Childrens Support Worker duties and responsibilities:



The duties and responsibilities of a Childrens Support Worker are as follows:

Assessing the needs of the child or young adult. Creating a plan of support for their clients based on a needs assessment Ensuring adherence to standards and legislation for confidentiality, equality and diversity Keeping records and updating reports for their cases Attending court sessions dealing with the care and protection of children Assisting and be involved with children's health & wellbeing, activities and appointments.

The successful candidate will:



Hold or be working towards a level 3/4 qualification in Residential childcare. Thrive in a team environment and be flexible with the ability to work a rota pattern Have experience of working with children and young people with challenging behaviours including mental health and behavioural problems. Be able to work shifts weekdays, evenings, weekends and nights. Work alongside other passionate and inspiring support workers and instil motivation to the young people. Be a part of helping the children and young people with their personal growth and development. Hold experience of looking after children with emotional, behavioural, or mental health conditions, as such you will need to be compassionate, calm, resilient and understand the issues and challenges children face. Good communication skills are a must. You may be required to spend lengthy amounts of time with our young people therefore the ability to communicate well is essential. Good written and verbal skills. This role involves paperwork and liaising with local authorities. Record keeping and report writing as well as verbally reporting is essential. The ability to problem-solve, de-escalate, and divert attention.

The successful candidate will have the following Qualifications/Requirements:



Must have valid Right to Work in the UK Must be aged 18 and above Must hold UK Drivers Licence Evidence of having a transferable skill that you can bring to the organisation.

The successful candidates will have the following Experience:



Experience working with children in a care home setting. Experience working with challenging behaviours/individuals ideally in a residential setting Experience in maintaining daily routines.
