Residential Children's Worker



Work Location: Stoke on Trent (ST2 & ST7)



Salary Range: 27,435.20 - 36,576.80 (depending on experience and qualification)



Shift: 2on 4off (including sleeps + Bank shift)



Reports to: Registered Manager

Your Role



Build positive, respectful relationships with children and young people. Support care plans, development goals, and emotional wellbeing. Promote safeguarding, routines, and behavioural boundaries. Engage young people in education, recreation, and daily life skills. Act as a key worker and lead shifts where appropriate. Maintain records and liaise with families and external professionals.

What we are looking for



Essential:



Ability to build positive relationships with young people and colleagues. Resilience, adaptability, and calmness under pressure. Inclusive, rights-based approach to care. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Competent in Microsoft Office (or willing to learn). Positive role model with integrity and professionalism. Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and sleep-ins. Full UK driving licence. Commitment to ongoing development.

Desirable:



Experience working with children or vulnerable people. Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Knowledge of child development, trauma, and safeguarding. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks.
