Guiding Light Care (GLC) are opening a new childcare provision in the Rushden area of East Northamptonshire, and are seeking to recruit positive, confident, nurturing full time, Night Care Practitioners, for our new home. We will be providing care for children and young people aged 8 - 17 years with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Salary



23,500 to 24,500 depending on experience and qualifications.

Shifts will be completed on a rolling Rota basis of 4 waking night shift followed by 4 rest days.

About you



You will be an integral part of the team in taking a child-centred approach in supporting the children and young people in their daily routines and their physical, emotional, and practical needs during a waking night shift. You will complete nightly duties that ensure the continuation of care for the young people and the home. You will be a positive role model to the young people and will mentor, encourage, and support them in the development of independent skills and education attainment.

As a Night Care Practitioner you will to ensure best practice about achieving the best possible results for the young people we support in line with Ofsted Regulations and Quality Standards. We are looking for individuals with strong work ethic and motivational skills and ability who will be able to continue to develop the service we provide. The role of Night Care Practitioner requires active commitment to the children and young people in our care and a diligence to the values and ethos of Guiding Light Care.

The safeguarding of children and young people are a priority at GLC and therefore you will be required to undergo a full enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) and vetting in line with safer recruitment policies and procedures.

Specifications and Requirements for the role



The ability to act as a positive an appropriate adult role model for young people and the ability to offer a professional relationship in a caring and accepting manner. Support children and young people with all daily routines and foster confidence and independence. Complete key work sessions in line with young people's care plans. Create and produce activities to occupy and develop young people in order that they gain life skills and education on an informed basis. To be able to give children and young people a voice in decisions about the care that impact their lives. To exercise a variety of skills to encourage young people in their education attainment. Able to carry out all duties in line with Guiding Light Care (GLC) policies and procedures. Able to maintain high standards of health and safety, safeguarding and quality as well as ensuring an inclusive, adaptable and caring atmosphere. Able to form and maintain good working relationships and to work effectively as part of a team. To adapt and stay calm when dealing with challenging behaviours. Must be committed to undertake regular job-related training. Must have qualification level 3/4 Health and Social Care in Young people's Workforce or a commitment to working toward this regulatory accreditation. Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications or equivalent and have a willingness to learn new applications and technology as appropriate. To produce, maintain, and distribute house paperwork to ensure relevant information is recorded accurately and is available. To complete additional tasks and duties requested by your line manager that are reasonable within your role of a care practitioner.
