Job Advert: Residential School Support Worker Ribchester
Full Time | 313.75 314.50 per hour | Includes early mornings and late nights
We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Support Worker to join the team at a specialist residential school based in Ribchester, Lancashire. This is a full-time role supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), learning disabilities, and associated complex needs.
This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people, helping them achieve positive outcomes in education, emotional wellbeing, and independence.
What Youll Do:

  • Provide consistent, person-centred care and support tailored to each young persons individual needs.
  • Support pupils in developing social, life, and independence skills both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Help create a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
  • Work as part of a committed multi-disciplinary team including therapists, education staff, and senior support workers.
  • Support with daily routines including personal care, meals, and activities.
  • Work flexible shifts, including early mornings and late nights, as part of a rolling rota.
What Were Looking For:
  • Previous experience working in a support worker or SEN (Special Educational Needs) environment is essential.
  • A valid UK driving licence is required due to the rural location of the school.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • An enhanced child-only DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to acquire one.
