Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day care and support, creating a safe, structured environment.
Implement individualised care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.
Assist young people with daily living skills, independence, and semi?independent life routines.
Take a proactive role in record keeping--logs, incident reports, care plans and shift notes.
Participate in team meetings, planning, handovers, and reflect on best practices with colleagues.
Engage with external professionals as required (social workers, teaching staff, therapists).
Contribute positively to the home's therapeutic and values-based care culture.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
A commitment to working with young people with disabilities or challenging behaviour.
Level 3 Diploma
in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)--OR
??2 years of experience in related roles such as a SEN Teaching Assistant, personal experience with challenging behaviour, autism, or semi-independent life skills teaching.
Willingness to work a varied rota including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
Strong interpersonal, observational, and record-keeping skills.
Full UK Driving Licence
--highly advantageous.
Desirable:
Experience working in residential care or supported living settings.
Confidence in implementing behaviour strategies or supporting young people's independence.
Working Pattern & Hours
Shifted rota across all 7 days--the pattern varies weekly.
Combination of day shifts, sleep-in shifts, waking nights, evenings, and weekends.
Flexibility and adaptability essential--fixed patterns are not available.
