We're seeking an exceptional
Children's Support Worker
to join a specialist team supporting a young person in a solo residential placement in Reading. This is a 1:1, high-intensity role where your ability to build trust, maintain emotional safety, and respond to challenging behaviours with empathy and skill will be vital.

What You'll Be Doing:
Therapeutic Care
- Use trauma-informed practices to create a calm, nurturing relationship
Mental Health Support
- Help a young person regulate emotions and navigate difficult behaviours
Crisis Response
- Apply de-escalation techniques and physical interventions when required
Structure and Stability
- Offer consistent, round-the-clock care in a solo setting
Life Skills & Routines
- Support with daily routines, personal care, and independent living
Key Work
- Develop and deliver tailored strategies in collaboration with external professionals
Team Collaboration
- Be part of a highly trained team working with a shared purpose
What You'll Bring:
Solid experience in residential childcare, mental health, and therapeutic support
Confidence in using physical intervention and behaviour management techniques (training provided)
Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm and consistent under pressure
The initiative to work independently while being a strong team player
A real passion for supporting children who've experienced trauma, adversity, or complex needs
