Residential Support Worker (Term Time Only)

40 hours per week, 37 weeks per year

Fulltime equivalent salary = 26,308

Actual Salary for working 37 weeks per year = 23,120

Due to the festive period we are operating on a reduced staffing level until the 5th January, the recruitment team will do their best to respond promptly.

This role can be both physically/emotionally demanding, and you must have the confidence and patience to deal/manage with the challenging behaviours that young people can present. However, the role is also extremely rewarding and you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of the young people in your care. This role is based at our residential homes located throughout the City.

Our students attend Freeman College based in the City Centre. Freeman College is an independent specialist college educating young people (16-25) with complex behaviour and learning difficulties including autistic spectrum conditions.

The main purpose of the role is to:

Support and facilitate the student's holistic needs, care, wellbeing, learning and development Enable their growth in confidence and social independence in a multi-disciplined, dynamic environment Support students in their home, college sessions, work-related learning, and in the wider community Work with the agreed holistic care plans, study programmes and risk assessments in place for each student.
Our students have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, which can involve complex diagnoses. Any applicants must be prepared to work with challenging behaviour.

Some daytime, but predominantly evening and weekend working is an essential requirement of the role.
