Plas Dwbl is a provision for Ruskin Mill Trust in Wales based on a 100 acre bio-dynamic farm at the foot of the Preseli Hills. Ruskin Mill Trust's innovative Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE) method giving young people the opportunity to overcome barriers to learning, become skilled through doing real life purposeful activities, and engage as valued members of the community.
Ruskin Mill Trust currently offers residential support for s tudents, providing Practical Skill Therapeutic Education for young people aged 16 to 25 years who have a range of learning difficulties, including autistic spectrum disorders and behaviours that challenge.

In order to be successful in this role you will:
Have a strong desire to support young people, have excellent observational skills, and the ability to problem solve and think creatively to enable our young people to reimagine their potential
Be a patient, caring, compassionate with a young person-centred nature
Demonstrate the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations, be a team player with experience of support work in both educational and residential settings
Emotional intelligence and resilience with the ability to react calmly in stressful situations
Be able to work flexible hours as this role includes working daytime, weekends, evenings and sleep over shifts on a rota basis
A NVQ 3 in Health and Social Work would be desirable, but not essential, as Ruskin Mill Trust will financially support you to gain this qualification
Due to the locations of some of our team houses - being a driver with access to your own vehicle is essential as the role involves travel between Coleg Plas Dwbl, in Pembrokeshire and the residential house in Carmarthen.
Shifts involve working primarily during the evenings and weekends, including sleepovers.
