We are looking for dedicated children's home waking night support workers in Aveley to be part of a team offering a comprehensive residential service to children and young people who have a diagnosed learning disability. The aim being to ensure the physical, social and emotional well-being of the children/young people, and assist in their positive holistic development, we require passionate and driven people who want to make a significant difference to the lives of vulnerable children, supporting them with independence, being able to follow their support plans and behaviour support plans consistently and being able to develop a strong bond and trusting relationship.
Responsibilities
Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care and household tasks.
Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual's needs.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other professionals to ensure continuity of care.
Provide childcare support as required, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children.
Accompany children to appointments or activities as needed,
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client's condition to relevant parties.
Utilise IT skills to manage documentation and communicate effectively within the team.
Skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with children and their families effectively.
Experience in childcare or working with children is highly desirable.
Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
Proficient IT skills for managing records and communication within the organisation.
A compassionate nature with a commitment to promoting the dignity and independence of those you support.
Diploma level 3 in residential childcare desirable, or a willingness to complete this qualification in the time scale set in the Children's Homes Regulations 2015
The home is open 24hours a day 365 days a year, staff will be required to work holidays and weekends.
