Are you passionate about supporting young people and creating a safe, nurturing environment? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Residential Youth Support Worker to support young people residing at our 24/7 semi-independent provision in Dagenham.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children and young people. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives while developing professional skills in childcare and youth engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote personal development and social skills.
Support children and young people with their emotional, behavioural, and educational needs.
Develop personalised care plans in collaboration with social workers, carers and other professionals.
Delivering and recording key work sessions with the children and young people.
Completing thorough and robust health and safety checks throughout the property.
Ensuring residents remain safe while residing at the provision.
Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies and incidents, reporting to Senior Management.
Communicating effectively with staff and Senior Management to ensure smooth handovers and continuity of care.
Maintain a high standard of support in line with OFSTED Regulations.
Experience
Essential
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People).
GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year's experience working with children and young people in any setting i.e. education, social care.
Understanding and knowledge of Safeguarding, confidentiality, and GDPR.
Desirable
Experience working in a semi-independent or supported living services for children and young people.
Awareness of trauma-informed approaches.
Knowledge and understanding of OFSTED Support Accommodation Regulations.
