Resource Planning Manager - Campsfield IRC

40hrs Per week

Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre is the UK's newly refurbished, first all-electric immigration removal centre, managed on behalf of the Home Office by Mitie Care & Custody. We are seeking a proactive and experienced manager to lead on resource planning while ensuring the Centre operates efficiently, meets demand effectively, and maintains the highest standards of service delivery.

Job Overview

As the Resource Planning Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective allocation, forecasting, and management of resources to meet operational and strategic objectives. You will monitor performance against contractual requirements and provide actionable insights to optimise efficiency and service delivery.

You will also play a key role in supporting continuous improvement across the Centre, working closely with operational leaders to balance resources, enhance productivity, and ensure accurate and timely reporting to support effective decision-making.

Main Duties

Lead and oversee the Centre's resource planning activities, ensuring efficient allocation of staff to meet operational and strategic objectives.

Administer and utilise electronic rostering systems to create schedules, track staff hours, manage leave requests, and ensure accurate data.

Monitor resource utilisation, overtime, and capacity levels to identify bottlenecks or potential conflicts, taking proactive steps to maintain service continuity.

Create and present regular resource reports and dashboards, providing insights on trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of planning processes, ensuring data integrity and transparency across all resource management activities.

Track and analyse staff sickness and absence data, producing regular reports to inform decision-making and improve resource availability.

Collaborate with senior leadership and operational managers to align resource decisions with organisational goals, priorities, and budgetary requirements.

Support continuous improvement initiatives, reviewing processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and staff satisfaction.

Provide advice, guidance, and training to managers and team leaders on resource planning, rostering systems, and best practice approaches.

We are looking for someone with strong analytical and communication skills, able to balance attention to detail with an understanding of wider operational priorities. You should have experience in resource planning or performance analysis, along with confidence using Microsoft Excel and solid general IT skills. A proactive, professional, and problem-solving approach, combined with the ability to translate data into practical insights, is essential.

It would be an advantage, though not essential, to have experience with rostering tools and HR processes, along with familiarity with regulated or custodial environments and some exposure to line management.
