An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Community Safety Unit within the Control Centre Services Team as we continue to expand within our Commercial Section.
Our Response Unit aims to deliver a high standard of customer service by patrolling across multiple client sites. The role of Response Officer requires a high level of vigilance, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage security concerns efficiently. You will be responsible for locking and unlocking premises, responding to alarms and conducting site patrols as required.
The team also support the successful delivery within the control centre operations, which includes monitoring our Public Space and Commercial Clients CCTV. They maintain good communication channels with internal and external stakeholders.
This is a permanent position working full time, 34 hours per week on a rotating 4 days on/4 days off working pattern to include weekends and Bank Holidays.
Duties
Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to monitor for suspicious activity or breaches of security.
Report all incidents, including security breaches, accidents, or unusual occurrences
Maintain a high standard of customer service while engaging with clients, staff, and visitors
Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, assessing situations and taking appropriate action.
Pro-actively monitor and operate cameras and associated equipment in accordance with the Code of Practice and operating instructions.
Observe incidents and provide information and assistance to the Police.
Maintain detailed surveillance logs, associated systems logs and documentation in accordance with specified procedures.
This post will require working a rotating shift pattern, working weekends and Bank Holidays.

Skills
Good level of general education - to GCSE Standard (or equivalent)
Hold, or be prepared to achieve, Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licences in CCTV, Security
Knowledge of Data Protection Act 2018, Human Rights Act, RIPA, Freedom of Information Act and Surveillance Camera Codes of Practice.
Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
Good communication skills
Driving License
