As our local RP/RPi, you will safeguard the integrity of our supply chain, ensure full GDP compliance, and support the importation of life-saving medicines into the UK.

As RP/RPi for Abacus Medicine UK, you will report directly to our Group RP Manager and work alongside a strong internal network of Responsible Persons across our international markets. Your expertise and dedication will be key in representing Abacus Medicine to UK authorities and partners, ensuring everything we do meets - or exceeds - expectations.

Your main responsibilities include:

Acting as the Responsible Person (RP) and Responsible Person for Import (RPi) for Abacus Medicine UK (AM UK). Overseeing all activities related to the AM UK Wholesaler Distribution Authorization (WDA). Ensuring compliance with GDP and UK import regulations as set forth by MHRA. Maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) and the WDA license aligned with Global AM procedures. Leading product recalls, handling complaints, managing deviations, and ensuring CAPAs are implemented effectively. Reviewing and approving SOPs, while continuously improving operational standards. Collaborating closely with Pharma Services, Pharma Trading, and QA teams to optimize workflows as well as support product release with QA Team in the Netherlands. Contributing to the strategic expansion of our portfolio in the UK market. Supporting third-party logistics setup and ensuring audit readiness. Acting as the local Subject Matter Expert (SME) on GDP. Fostering a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.


Fuel for your success in the role



In addition, we expect that you:

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Responsible Person or Deputy RP on a WDA(H), or similar quality assurance experience within the pharmaceutical industry. UK residency and membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., Royal Pharmaceutical Society or Royal Society of Biology). A Master's degree in pharmacy, biology, chemistry, medicine, or a similar qualification recognized by the MHRA. Eligibility to act as RPi under UK regulations. In-depth knowledge of UK GDP regulation and in depth knowledge of the Green Guide. Experience with QMS, deviation handling, CAPA, SOP development, and regulatory inspections. Excellent communication skills in English; other European languages are a plus. Strong stakeholder management and the ability to work cross-functionally across business units. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize, adapt and lead in a fast-paced environment. Experience in performing the functions of a responsible person on a wholesale dealer's license.
