Betteshanger Country Park is situated amongst 250 acres of Kentish grounds, boasting a modern visitor centre and a wide range of events spaces.
Within the visitor centre, we have The Lamp Room restaurant and The Glass Room events venue. We are looking for a candidate to drive both of these facilities, overseeing the daily operations as well as enhancing the customer journey from enquiry to execution.
This person will work closely with the Head of Betteshanger Country Park to drive the sales of the events, being the point of communication for all hospitality events including hosting open days and tours of the venue. There will be the opportunity to help grow our offering, be it from introducing new ideas for our packages to a fresh look at the venue's offering.
In The Lamp Room, you will oversee the day to day, driving the team to be their very best and ensuring everything is in place for our guest's.
The job will include overseeing the daily response to our customer in the restaurant, including;
Staff Management
Stock control
HR and training
Development
Working with the marketing team regarding promotions
We are looking for an experienced restaurant and events manager, ideally from a hotel, restaurant or events background, however all areas of hospitality will be recognized as positive.
The right candidate will be flexible, with weekends being essential to the role. A typical week would be a Tues/Weds-Sat/Sun rota, with 2-3 administrative days and the rest of the time leading the operations of the restaurant and events. Our evening events are currently 2-5 per month, and so evenings will be required also subject to the events calendar.
