About the Role



Society Bar & Kitchen is expanding, and we're looking for a highly organised, detail-driven

Restaurant Finance & Inventory Controller

to manage the financial and operational backbone of our venues.

This is a

specialist back-office role

covering payroll, inventory management, procurement, cost control, and KPI reporting -- working directly with the business owners as we grow into a multi-site restaurant group.

Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll



Manage the full payroll process for Society and future restaurants Validate hours, holidays, and tips/service charge allocations Work with GMs and HR to ensure accuracy and compliance

Inventory & Procurement



Oversee weekly and monthly stock counts across all sites Monitor wastage, cost variances, stock movements, and supplier pricing Manage purchasing systems and maintain supplier relationships Approve invoices and maintain accurate coding and cost controls

Cost Control & Reporting



Produce weekly and monthly KPI reports for the owners Maintain dashboards (labour %, GP%, wastage, stock turn, supplier spend, etc.) Support menu costing and margin improvement plans Analyse performance trends and identify cost-saving opportunities

Operational Finance Support



Strengthen financial and operational controls across purchasing and payroll Support the setup of financial systems for new restaurant openings Work closely with chefs, GMs, and owners to improve cost efficiencies Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement

What You Bring



Experience in hospitality (restaurants, hotels, catering) in a finance or operations role Strong grasp of labour cost, GP%, food cost control, and stock processes Excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills A methodical, accurate, and reliable working style Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior leadership Experience with inventory, purchasing, or payroll systems is an advantage
