"Back in the 1920s, Grandpa Greene made his own ice cream using a churn in the back yard of his corner shop in Salford. Today, we've taken his recipe and developed it into a luxury handmade ice cream made the old-fashioned way."
From those humble beginnings, Grandpa Greene's has grown into a
200-seater ice cream parlour and restaurant
nestled in the green hills of Diggle, Saddleworth. It's one of the area's busiest and most loved destinations, with three glass-fronted terraces, indoor dining, waterfront seating and private domes.

Greene's Bistro at Uppermill Park

The Role
As
Restaurant General Manager
, you will be hands on working in both sites take full responsibility for day-to-day operations across both sites, ensuring excellence in service, profitability and team performance. You'll report directly to the Directors and play a key part in the ongoing development and success of the group.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and develop front-of-house and management teams across both sites.
Deliver exceptional customer service and hospitality standards at all times.
Control operational costs including stock, labour and waste to maximise profitability.
Work closely with Directors on sales performance, budgets and forecasts.
Ensure full compliance with health, safety and food hygiene regulations.
Maintain excellent communication between teams, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Identify opportunities for growth, innovation and improved guest experience.
Drive recruitment, training and staff retention, ensuring a positive and motivated team culture.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Experienced in managing busy restaurants or hospitality venues (minimum 5 years).
Well-presented, professional, confident and hands-on.
Commercially aware with strong understanding of budgets, cost control and sales growth.
Organised, dependable and proactive under pressure.
An exceptional communicator and motivator who leads by example.
Passionate about hospitality, service and developing people.
