INTRODUCTION



Community Foods Limited is a major supplier of dried fruit, nuts, seeds, pulses, and other ambient stable ingredients to the UK food industry, including a number of market leading brands. With ingredients sales having grown by over 100% since 2009 thanks to the introduction of new suppliers and new customers, Community Foods is one of the largest suppliers of our type of ingredients to the UK market. Community Foods is also a pre- wholesaler as well as acting as agents and brand holders with a portfolio of organic and natural brands, including Crazy Jack Organic Sanchi and Tarantella and operates a packing and dried fruit reprocessing plant in support of these business sectors.

The individual must be an articulate, highly motivated, problem solver as well as someone who can work well on their own or in a team.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Identifying, preparing and proposing Community Foods products to suitable prospective customers. Completing customer tenders in various formats within specified deadlines. Upon gaining new business, responsible for project managing the successful launch ensuring customer launch dates are met. Supporting the Trading Director: Ingredients with future tenders in new catering accounts. Supporting the Retail Account Controller: Retail in their absence. Supporting supply chain to solve issues and ensure great supplier service. Accurate forecasting to ensure maximum service levels in all accounts. Correct costings of new products which align with profit aspirations of birth parties.
Develop and maintain engagement with internal and external stakeholders to ensure long term success.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS



Commercial acumen:

Retail Account Developments Managers need to be able to use mathematical skills to accurately calculate costs and profit of lines. Similar skills are required to set accurate sales budgets and forecasts.

Organizational Skills:

Retail Account Development Managers set their own diaries but are expecting to meet any reasonable deadline set by a customer.

Communication Skills:

Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders is crucial.

Problem-solving Skills:

Identifying and resolving operational issues requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Customer Service Skills:

Providing excellent customer service and support is a key aspect of the role.

IT Technical Skills:

Proficiency in relevant software and systems (e.g., SAP database, Reflex, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) may be required.

Negotiation Skills:

Retail Account Development Managers must understand the cost base of Community Foods and be able to negotiate with customers to ensure the correct outcome for both parties.

REQUIREMENTS



Education and qualifications



Educated to A level or degree standard.



Skills and abilities



Team player with a flexible approach to a variety of duties.

Excellent Analytical skills

Ability to deal effectively with suppliers and customers as well as colleagues on a daily basis.

Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications, in particular excel.

Attention to detail.

Proactive i.e. ability to think and plan ahead.

Determination and drive.

Ability to set and meet sales budgets.

Ability to negotiate with customers to achieve the correct outcome.

Good Working Knowledge / Experience of



Outlook/Excel/ PowerPoint.

Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage although not essential.

Experience of dealing with customer buying departments within the Major Multiple food retailers in the UK.
