Job Description

Reporting to: Area Manager

Hours: Part-Time (up to 30 hours per week) to be worked within Monday-Saturday by mutual agreement and some Sundays. Some flexible working will be required. We will also consider other requests for flexible working.

Job Purpose



Supporting the Area Manager with all retail administration requirements and supporting the shop management teams with their administration, to ensure all processes and procedures are followed. To provide relief cover for shops, as required.

Key Responsibilities:



Assisting with the implementation of operations actions to maximise income and profit. Supporting the Area Manager in a Relief Manager role as and when required to cover holidays and absence across the stores Helping to ensure that all managers and staff understand and deliver Willow's aim, principles and objectives Supporting managers and staff in Willow shops to ensure they understand and implement operating procedures and comply with all aspects of employment, trading standards and health and safety legislation at all times, including ensuring risk assessments are undertaken regularly and remedial actions taken Working closely with colleagues in other areas of the charity e.g. community fundraising, major partnerships and events, to ensure that all opportunities for retail are maximised and supported Presenting to customers and supporters a positive image of Willow through excellent retail practices Supporting shops to ensure that sales and gift aid opportunities are maximised, creating greater profits to fuel the charity To work closely with the Communications team, to deliver key communications across retail, and to support the shop management teams in delivering their communications plans on shop social media channels, including Facebook and Instragram

Travel requirement



To visit shops in the Willow network on a regular basis; to attend meetings at Head Office; to attend Shop Managers Meetings; and training sessions as required.

Person Specification



Knowledge and Qualifications



Good understanding of retail operations Good understanding of stock management Understanding of trends and best practice in charity retail Good understanding of retail gift aid and related processes Good understanding of health and safety and trading standards GCSE Maths and English or equivalent literacy and numeracy skills

Key Skills



Accurate, conscientious, and self-motivated Ability to work on own and use initiative to make decisions Ability to plan, prioritise and organise Good communication skills at all levels Creative e.g. visual merchandising, marketing Ability to motivate, engage and develop teams to deliver results Good business acumen Experienced in MS Office suite - Word, Excel, Outlook to a competent standard

Experience



Proven retail experience in charity sector Experience of delivering training to staff, is desirable

Other



Mobility - the job entails frequent and extensive travel. Some Saturday and Sunday working is required.
