We are looking for a friendly, proactive, and customer-focused Customer Service Advisor to join our team at

The ZipYard

, the specialist clothing alteration and tailoring service. The ideal candidate will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment, supporting customers with their alteration needs, and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the centre. This position is perfect for someone passionate about customer care and eager to develop their skills in a busy, hands-on service environment. Fluency in English is essential, and additional languages such as Spanish are a strong advantage to support our diverse customer base.

Duties



Warmly greet customers and provide guidance on alteration, repair, and tailoring services. Discuss customer requirements, offer basic advice, and ensure accurate intake of garments and instructions. Maintain a clean, organised, and professional reception area that reflects The ZipYard brand. Promote services, turnaround options, and special offers to maximise customer satisfaction and centre performance. Handle transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system, including cash handling and professional phone etiquette. Assist with the organisation of garments, manage workflow, and support stock control of accessories or haberdashery items. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing queries, updating customers on progress, and resolving issues promptly. Support general operational tasks such as maintaining cleanliness and assisting with window or seasonal displays. Contribute to the smooth running of promotional activities or local marketing initiatives where required.

Qualifications



Fluency in English; the ability to speak Spanish or other additional languages is highly beneficial. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently and courteously with a wide range of customers. Basic numeracy skills for processing payments and managing simple stock or order-related tasks. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment. Professional phone manner and strong interpersonal skills. Experience in retail, customer service, or front-of-house roles is preferred, but full training will be provided. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a supportive team. Attention to detail, proactive attitude, and a willingness to learn about our services and processes.

Pay: 12.21-16.18 per hour
