Job Summary

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Retail Assistant to join our small wellness shop for a 6-week period. You'll help create a calm, welcoming space for our customers while keeping the shop running smoothly behind the scenes.

This role is ideal for someone who loves aromatherapy, crystals and holistic wellness, and enjoys chatting with customers, keeping things beautifully organised, and getting involved in the practical day-to-day of a busy little shop.

Duties

Welcome customers warmly and provide helpful, knowledgeable service at all times Serve customers at the till, handle payments and wrap/pack purchases with care Keep the shop clean, tidy and inviting (dusting, wiping surfaces, sweeping, general housekeeping) Merchandise shelves and displays so products look attractive and easy to browse Price products, put stock out on the shop floor and keep shelves fully stocked Add new products and stock onto the till/stock system accurately Assist with making up stock (e.g. labelling, packing, simple product prep as trained) Create and post one simple daily social media update (e.g. product highlight, display, or in-store moment) following brand guidelines Answer basic customer questions about candles, aromatherapy, crystals and wellness products (training and guidance provided) Follow all shop procedures for safety, security and opening/closing as required
Skills & Experience

Previous retail or customer-facing experience is helpful but not essential - the right attitude is more important

Genuine interest in aromatherapy, crystals and holistic wellness is a must

Warm, kind and approachable manner with customers and colleagues Good attention to detail for pricing, stock handling and using the till/stock system Comfortable using a smartphone/tablet for simple social media posts Able to keep yourself busy, spot what needs doing and take initiative Happy to be on your feet, moving stock and keeping the shop looking its best Reliable and punctual, especially on Saturdays
This temporary position is perfect for someone who would love to spend a few weeks in a calm, wellness-focused environment, supporting a small independent business and learning more about aromatherapy, crystals and scented products.

You'll be working as part of a small, supportive team where kindness, care and a love of all things soothing and soulful are at the heart of what we do.

Pay: 12.21 per hour
