Part-time Retail Assistant to work in our Brighton Marina shop. You'll be joining a small team and you will often be required to work independently.

You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks from on-line sales, taking bookings for our courses and adventures, advising customers on equipment in store and making a cracking coffee for them.

Although this position is based in our shop 50% of our sales are currently on-line so it is essential that you have excellent computer skills. As we continue to grow our ecommerce platform we are looking for a candidate with technical know-how.

Working within a small team you will need to be multi-skilled, adaptable and able to turn your hand to assist with all aspects of the business.

Required Skills

Retail experience (ideally with both on-line and in store experience). Skilled in computers (ideally Macs) / internet / emails / word / excel. Great customer service skills. Strong written and verbal communication. Flexibility and adaptability.

Desirable Skills

Climbing and Kayaking background (must have experience in at least one of these). Computer Science or equivalent degree / HTML / Logical Thinking Skills Familiarity with Photo Editing Software Experience maintaining social media platforms and engaging with the public. Creative writing (newsletters / blogs / web content). Instructional qualifications in the sports we offer. Barista coffee making experience.

You also will be able to attend some of our courses free of charge or at cost price including; rock climbing, abseiling, kayaking, navigation, mountaineering, first aid.

The shop is open Mon-Sat 9-5:30 (with a 30 minute lunch break) between November and March. We would expect commitment to Saturday work across the winter period and weekends from the spring.
